Description
A deep red-purple, almost black, green-shouldered beefsteak tomato variety originating in Crimea, Russia, near the Black Sea. This indeterminate heirloom tomato grows on 1.5-2m vines, producing numerous medium-sized, globe-shaped fruits. Black Krim are renowned for their wonderfully rich, mildy-tart and salty flavour and are a favourite of many fine chefs. Reliable croppers but a bit prone to developing cracks. Does best out of the wind, to help keep the cracks and scars away, and produces more flavourful crops in a leaner soil with a good, thick mulch. 70-90 days.
Indeterminate (vine) variety.
