Description
Also known as Finocchio or Vegetable Fennel, Florence Fennel is grown for its white, slightly flattened bulbs, which have an aniseed (liquorice) flavour, and for the delicate feathery foliage which is also edible. Delicious either steamed, grilled, roasted, thinly sliced or grated raw to add crunch to crispy salads. The seeds also used for flavouring. Foeniculum Vulgare.
High yielding with decorative feathery foliage. Once the plants have developed an egg-sized bulb at their bases, hill soil up around them to keep them blanched as they grow. 70-100 days.
