Description
(B. juncea) A remarkably long-lasting curled type, Southern Giant is a beloved classic known for big yields of spicy greens. Leaves are large, bright green, with attractively curled leaf edges and the flavour is always pungent and full-bodied. A pre-1880's variety and an 'All American Selections' winner many years ago, it is still the standard for true mustard greens today. This variety can be used for late sowings as it is cold tolerant and has good bolting resistance. Good for a 'cut-and-come-again' crop, just harvest the largest outside leaves and it will continue to grow and produce more. Raw young leaves and flowers are great for sushi. 50 days.
