Long, thick (5cm across), vigorous and fast growing. They hold up well and have a delicate and deliciously mild flavor, great fresh or cooked. The Carentan leek was first mentioned in 1885. An old European favorite that is becoming rare. Very adaptable and yields are good. They are quite large and will need a bit of space to themselves.
