Description
Heirloom variety originally developed in 1892 from “Early Blood Turnip Beet” (a variety nearly 75 years older). The most popular, old standard, all-purpose, red beet. Uniform and smooth, blood-red flesh that is sweet, tender and tasty. Round 8cm roots with 35cm tall tops that also make superb tasting greens. Very vigorous growers, make successive sowing for a continuous supply. Good keeper and an excellent choice as a main crop canner. 55 days.
